As winter wraps her chilly arms around us, what better time for another voyage into the balmy waters of Offshore Radio Theatre? Our third episode will take place on Friday July 29 with Geoffrey O’Connor setting the scene. His is the music of an old AM station, intimate and familiar, made by a man entirely captivated by the now.
Later, The Bombay Royale, starring vocalists “The Mysterious Lady” and “The Tiger”, will bring back the golden age of Bollywood, accompanied by hot brass, shimmering spaghetti guitar and sitar, screaming organs, tape echo, and occasionally elephants, monkeys and tigers. Oh my.
This month, guest disc jockey Woody McDonald will emerge from the jungle, a fertility idol in one hand and an ocarina in the other, to bring you a set of exotic rhythms. Residents Treasure Island and Sweet Jelly Roll will bring the sounds of the wild with freakbeat, exotica, 1960s African psych, calypso, R’n’B and gospel well into the wee hours.
On top of all this ladies and gents, I, Captain Windson Rockelhurst, will be making my own cruise ship-worthy floor show appearance with a flock of exotic ladies in tow and more fruity headdresses than you can shake your maracas at.
As always, for those who are separated by the vast oceans and cannot attend, we will broadcast live on right here.
Yours faithfully,

Captain Winsdon Rockelhurst
